Study on Optimization of Parameters for Preparing Isopropyl Ether from Isopropanol Catalyzed by SPU-WMolecular Sieve |

Abstract:The preparation of isopropyl ether by dehydration of isopropanol with SPU-W molecular sieve as catalyst was studied. The
effects of silicon to aluminum ratio, reaction temperature and amount of molecular sieve on the dehydration of isopropanol catalyzed by
SPU-W molecular sieve were investigated, and the catalyst was characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results show
that SPU-W molecular sieve with the silicon to aluminum ratio of 25 has the best catalytic effect. The optimum reaction temperature
and dosage of SPU-W molecular sieve for isopropanol to isopropyl ether are 180 ℃ and 0.5 g, respectively. Under these conditions, the
conversion of isopropanol is 42.72%, and the selectivity of isopropyl ether is 87.08%. |
